2PM Webinar Today Reviewing New COVID-19 Business Regulations

This morning, on Friday, October 23 at 6AM, new regulations for non-essential businesses went into effect to help manage a second wave of COVID-19 cases in the Chicago region.

The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection is holding a webinar to provide an overview of these new regulations today at 2PM. You can register online at chicago.gov/businesseducation or click on the button below.

As a reminder, the following updates remain in effect for 14 days or otherwise, depending on developing COVID-19 data.

Bars, breweries, and taverns without a food license are prohibited from operating any indoor service.

A nightly operating curfew on non-essential businesses from 10PM-6AM:

  • Last call for serving liquor is at 9PM

  • Take-out and curb-side pick-up at restaurants is still permitted

Increased emphasis of current public safety guidelines:

  • Maximum 6 people in your "personal bubble" (e.g. no household gatherings >6 people of non-household members)

  • Face coverings, if medically tolerable, are to be worn in all public indoor and outdoor settings

  • Maintain 6 feet of social distance whenever possible

  • Wash your hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds
