All Chicago Residents Now Eligible for In-Home COVID-19 Vaccination

The Chicago Department of Public Health announced that its in-home vaccination program, Protect Chicago At Home, is now open to all Chicago residents age 12 and up. To encourage Chicago residents to take advantage of the program, Chicago-based Grubhub will donate gift cards valued at $50 to every household that chooses in-home vaccination.

Appointments can be booked now and gift card distribution will begin June 28. The gift cards will be usable immediately at any restaurant available through the Grubhub app. 

In-home vaccination offers a choice between the Pfizer (12 and older) and Johnson & Johnson (18 and older) vaccines. Up to 10 people can be vaccinated per household. Gift cards are limited to one card per household. The gift cards represent a $100,000 in-kind donation from Grubhub.

To date, Protect Chicago At Home has administered in-home vaccination to more than 3,500 Chicagoans. Initially launched to bring vaccines to homebound seniors and people with disabilities in March, the program expanded to all seniors in May. It is the only on-demand, in-home vaccination program now available to all residents age 12 and up in the U.S.

The City of Chicago is also offering Lollapalooza passes as an incentive for vaccination. The City will give away 1,200 single-day Lollapalooza passes to those who make a special appointment at one of four select City vaccination sites on Saturday, June 26. The sites will be transformed into a Lollapalooza experience – each featuring DJs spinning music and custom Lollapalooza-branded giveaways. Each site will offer passes to a different day of the music festival (available for pick up on July 10): 

  • Wilbur Wright College: Passes for Thursday, July 29

  • Richard J. Daley College: Passes for Friday, July 30

  • Kennedy King College: Passes for Saturday, July 31

  • Malcolm X College: Passes for Sunday, August 1

Appointments are required and are available at https://pcmslolla.juvare.com. Please note, only CONFIRMED appointments will be accepted on-site – registrants should ensure that their appointment has moved from pending to confirmed. Each site will administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Appointments are only available for Chicagoans age 18 and up.

Individuals who are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are also eligible for passes. A link to passes will be released Sunday, June 27 on CDPH’s social media channels and on its website.

All Lollapalooza passes will be available for pickup on Saturday, July 10, at a special Protect Chicago Music Series concert event at the House of Blues, featuring a Lollapalooza artist. Attendees must bring their CDC vaccination card as proof of vaccination and matching photo ID to pick up their passes.

To date more than 2.7 million vaccines have been administered in the City of Chicago.
