Chicago Eases Travel Limits, Opens Lakefront And Playgrounds
Public health officials have eased guidelines for travel to and from eighteen states as Chicago’s COVID-19 positivity rate reaches its lowest point since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020; the statewide positivity rate is also currently at its lowest point. As such, the Emergency Travel Order has been modified. Please see the map below for more information.
Additionally, because positivity rates across the region have fallen, the Chicago Park District announced that lakefront parks and its 580 playgrounds are now reopen. Lakefront parks will be open during normal operating hours, though large gatherings are still prohibited. Face coverings are still mandatory, and social distance must be maintained whenever possible. Parking fees will be enforced.
