The proposal amends the previously reviewed development at 1150 W. Lake to change from 550 residential units south of Lake Street and an office building north of Lake Street, to 486 residential units south of Lake Street and replacing the office building north of Lake Street with 179 residential units. There will be a reduction from ~44,000 sq. ft. to ~37,000 sq. ft. of ground floor commercial space. The publicly accessible ground floor, alley design with retail uses, will remain and the automobile parking count of 290 spaces also remains.
Each development in the West Loop must undergo a public review process, which involves a presentation of the project to the community. Participation at these open meetings is crucial. It is an opportunity for the developer to hear the comments and concerns of the community, and it is a format through which your voices can be heard. Strong public input can change the course of a project, so please consider attending community development meetings as frequently as possible. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please contact Carla M. Agostinelli, WLCO’s Executive Director, at carla@westloop.org or via telephone at 312-666-1991 with any comments, questions or concerns about the proposed development.
